Paul Doucette was born and raised in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, the youngest son of Captain Louis Doucette, Jr., a New Bedford Fisherman whose career spanned fifty years. He is a graduate of Fairhaven High School and the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree while majoring in Textiles. Mr. Doucette was involved in the management of various textile manufacturing plants in the Deep South, New England, California, and the United Kingdom during a forty-seven-year career. His family have been Georges Bank fishermen since the mid-1800s.
Neptune’s Nor’easter is his first book, and it was heavily influenced by his family history, and a need that he felt to help illuminate the positive attributes of the New Bedford Fishing Industry, and the City of New Bedford.
